Blue Air the latest airline to land with FindandBook

Romanian leisure airline Blue Air is the latest IATA member to be integrated into the market leading booking platform FindandBook, offering yet more choice and flexibility for UK travellers.

The integration of Blue Air will help to enhance its leisure market through collaboration with tour operators, particularly in the UK, while the extended global presence of FindandBook will help Blue Air develop customer retention and improve efficiency in its operations.

Blue air operates intensively in the UK market linking London Luton airport, Liverpool, Birmingham and Glasgow airports with Romania, Cyprus and Italy.

Operating for more than 11 years, Blue Air offer flights to over 70 direct routes in Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The company has six operational bases in Bucharest, Bacau, Larnaca, Turin and Cluj-Napoca which will come on stream in October this year. It operates a fleet of 25 Boeing 737 aircraft, consisting of three 737-300s, nine 737-400s, six 737-500s, one 737-700 as well as six 737-800s.

It is the largest Romanian carrier, with around 1.4 million passengers recorded in the first six months of the year, which is forecast to reach 3.2 million by the end of 2016 due to the launch of 25 new routes.

Although primarily a Romanian carrier, Blue Air has emerged into a pan-European carrier after having established bases in other foreign markets including Italy and Cyprus.

Iulia Muntean, Head of Sales at Blue Air Romania said: “We are delighted that our extensive programme of flights is now available to FindandBook users following the integration of our programme and are confident this will further enhance our expansion plans.”

Editor’s notes

Paxport acquired Multicom at the beginning of the year. After this summer, they will become one company operating under one brand - Paxport.

Paxport’s technology centre will be based in Bristol, UK and its merchandising centre and HQ in Stockholm, Sweden.

Paxport’s Merchandising and Distribution System will enable automated transactions between travel service providers (airlines, hotels and others) and resellers (tour operators, OTAs and traditional travel agents). The MDS not only aggregates and distributes the fares and bookings, but also additional services like choice of seating, extra luggage and a preorder duty-free service. In Addition, the MDS merchandises the ancillary services to optimise conversions and revenues throughout the entire process from search and booking to post-booking.
