The Background Story

In 1990 a company called Optispec was run by an English software developer named David Stokes. He sold the software TOPCOM, later to be called Veloxys, to handling agents and airlines. The software consolidated passenger booking data from different Tour Operators and created PNL's. In 1992 the first Topcom system was sold to Braathens and after that further systems were sold. The Scandinavian market wanted pre seating for efficiency and to reduce line ups at the airport. Optispec became known as the PNL & Seating people. The CM2 file format was created and received wide acceptance.

In the late 90's, early 2000 the first outsourced customers started (TOPWORLD), the system was getting more complicated and training for personnel was becoming a necessity.  It was no longer efficient to have a small team at each airline so Optispec developed an outsource service.
